SOPHOMORE YEAR

Sun

Spots

Pavilion

YEAR: 2019

Like a clock building, with every hour pass, the sunlight transitions from a whole to another, creating spots on the pavilion's ground. The design was to create a pavioln that calculates the time like the back days.

In the sun study model, I was chasing the sunspot.  I was inspired by the old way of knowing the time. Back then, people put a beam standing in a middle of a circle, and this strategy was used to recognize the prayer time.

The design was to determine the timing through the sunspots from the ground. Perspective A  determines that the timing is between 7 am to 10 am. Perspective B concluded that the time is between 11 am till 2 pm. Perspective C determines that the time is between 3 pm to 6 pm.
